The Canadian Partnership Against Cancer has received funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada to engage organizations working on chronic disease prevention in Canada’s Northern and Remote Regions through the Partnership’s Coalitions Linking Action and Science for Prevention (CLASP) initiative. The purpose of this engagement is to understand their evaluation needs and develop a strategy for meeting these needs through the CAPTURE initiative.
As a part of this work, CAPTURE will be connecting with organizations involved in CLASP in order to identify evaluation needs and find indicators and tools for nutrition and physical activity interventions that can be hosted on the CAPTURE platform.
Dr. Kim van der Woerd will be leading this project for CAPTURE. Kim is a member of the ‘Namgis First Nation from Alert Bay, British Columbia. For over 10 years, Kim has been conducting local, provincial and national program evaluations in the area of Aboriginal health and youth health issues. As a first step, Kim will be establishing an advisory committee to guide the consultations. If you are interested in participating in these consultations, please contact The CAPTURE Project.
We will continue to share our progress on this work over the coming months.
