The CAPTURE Project is hosting a Think Tank entitled “How can we CAPTURE practice-based evidence?” on March 16, 2010 from 9:30-11:00am at the 3rd Annual NIH Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation being held in Bethesda, Maryland.
The Think Tank will introduce The CAPTURE Project and engage researchers and experts in identifying the conceptual and methodological challenges in capturing and using practice-based knowledge in the implementation of health promotion interventions.
Participants will be asked to consider the following types of questions:
- What aspects of tacit knowledge of program implementation should be captured?
- Where does tacit knowledge fit in the evidence hierarchy and how can it be made more valid and reliable?
- What will facilitate practitioners reflecting on and recording tacit knowledge?
- How can the data be analyzed and packaged to increase the likelihood of its usage to improve practice?
The information obtained from the Think Tank will be used to develop the reflective practice features of the CAPTURE platform.
If you wish to attend this event, you are urged to register for the NIH conference by the February 12, 2010 deadline.
