Consultations and collaborations central to CAPTURE’s development

The CAPTURE Project is a highly collaborative initiative, drawing on the expertise and experiences of a broad range of chronic disease prevention stakeholders. We have been in consultations for a few months now and plan to wrap things up at a workshop this fall. We sought initial guidance for the project from an expert panel and have just finished seeking broad input on the creation of the platform through an online information-gathering process called Concept Mapping.

As these activities unfolded we also conducted an environmental scan of related initiatives through key informant interviews. To help us sort through the Concept Mapping results and prioritize suggestions for the platform, we held a session on CAPTURE at the National Collaborating Centres for Public Health Summer Institute 2009. We will share with you our understanding of the input obtained from these consultation activities as they unfold.
